Abstract The application of Expert System in Agriculture is one of the hot issues on the research of Expert System. This paper contains mainly two parts. Firstly, this paper put forward a new knowledge representation method by introducing the fuzzy mathematics that syncretized the mix of precise and fuzzy representation of frame, production and formula for PDA-oriented Agriculture Expert System (AES) and illustrated the mix inference strategy of frame and precise and fuzzy production according to this knowledge representation. Furthermore, this paper expounds the feasibility of the integration of knowledge base and database and the design of database to devise the public inference algorithm for PDA-oriented AES. Secondly, the paper describes the fundamental principle of the PDA-oriented AES and elaborates the key technology of implement. Finally, the paper summarizes the main efforts and expresses the deficiency of the paper, moreover, brings forward the next research plan. The thesis is classified into six chapters: In Chapter one, this paper briefly lists the summary of the technology of AES at home and aboard and describes the technique feature of PDA, then presents concise signification for the design of oriented-PDA expert system in agriculture and introduces the main achievements and arrangements of the paper. In Chapter two, the paper presents a new knowledge representation method by introducing the fuzzy mathematics that synthesizes the mix of precise and fuzzy representation of frame. In Chapter three, the paper illustrates the mix inference strategy of frame and precise and fuzzy production according to the knowledge representation in Chapter two. In Chapter four, the paper discusses the fuzzy relation database by introducing the fuzzy mathematics. Furthermore, it presents the design of database to devise the public inference algorithm for PDA-oriented AES. In Chapter five, the paper briefly describes the design and implement of the PDA-oriented AES. At first, it introduces the design platform and the main efforts, then describes the fundamental principle of the PDA-oriented AES. At last, it expounds the key technology of it. In Chapter six, the paper summarizes the achievements and deficiencies of the paper, moreover, brings forward the next research plan.
