Electric power industry is the important pillar industry of the country. Substationautomation technology is safe, economic, reliable and efficient to operate for electric powersystem, which is the effective protection. The factory plant substation is an important node inthe whole power system and play a decisive role in the safety production of the factory,.Unmanned substation control system is reformed from the traditional substation whichhas some disadvantages like weak device flexibility, less information, weak expansion andman workload. The system will implement substation function included remote measure,remote information, remote control, remote regulating and intelligent remote viewing (thefive remote).Unmanned substation monitoring system mainly use remote monitoring technology, theconfiguration technology, active infrared intrusion detector technology, intelligent instrument(temperature transmitter and humidity transmitter), Modbus field bus, Ethernet andintelligent video surveillance technology. Real-time signal is transmitted to the controller PLCthrough the Modbus, and then through the industrial Ethernet transmission to the computermonitoring and control system. Integrated substation automation system will be used forautomatic data acquisition, control, remote monitoring and fault record.The paper firstly discusses the substation of the overall architecture, and then focus onthe realization of image motion detection. Video image processing includes image acquisition,image preprocessing, image morphology and image processing. There are two kinds ofscheme, which generally includes the adjacent frame difference method and the backgroundimage difference method. They are realized adjacent frame difference method and thebackground image difference method using the OpenCV function package in visual C++programming environment, and then compare the two schemes. The results show that, thebackground image difference method is superior to the adjacent frame difference method.Finally, the paper discusses the software design of the main functions of the system, PC andPLC driver realization, window display interface design and the power quality analysis ofinterface.
