Paper-cutting Style Face Portrait Generation Technology Research

With the rapid development of modern computer technology, paper cutting production has a better technical support, both the creative cycle and technical effect have a faster development. Portrait paper-cut are widely used in interior decoration, publicity, all kinds of gifts and activity background, and so on, it has a large market demand space, people have further study for the computer generated paper-cut. At present, the main way of computer generated image of paper-cut is that do manual decomposition for image paper-cut figure, then we get the sections of portrait paper-cut, and use them to construct a paper-cut template library. Searching for the template of paper-cut which most matched with the real face in it, according to a certain relationship, we replace the original image’s position with the paper-cut template, so we can get the portrait paper-cut corresponding with the human face. This method requires a lot of portrait paper-cut figure to construct paper-cut template library.This paper presents a generation method based on doing deformation for face paper-cut image to generate the figure which has paper-cut style portrait. In this way, we can get a better result, and dose not need the mass of portrait paper-cut figure to construct paper-cut template library.The main works are:(1)Useing the Active Shape Model to demarcate, and extract the feature of human paper-cut.Do Analysis and generalization the five sense organs、face shape features of the paper-cut face and real face, according to the number of feature point and position which express facial features, face shape features. Choose the male, female photos all100tickets as the training set pictures, do calibration feature point for pictures in the training set, then we can get face active shape model. Use active shape model to extract the characteristics of paper-cut face and target real face.(2)Generating face portrait with paper-cut style by using the deformation method. Use the way of deformation to get the face portrait which has paper-cut style.At the base of extract face feature, use the idea of deformation, with real people face for the target, do deformation for human paper-cut figure, finally, we can get the face portrait figure which has the style of paper-cut. The deformation method of this paper is sheet spline deformation and the mapping function of Moving Least Square based on curve.
