With the continuous development of modern industrial technology, the welding quality requirement becomes more and more perfect.Traditional welding techniques generally controls the welding qualityrelying on welding voltage or current, so the operators analyze indirectlythe welding quality through the feedback data in the welding process. However, in order to analyze the welding quality more intuitively, thisarticle describes remote welding vision system, which analyzes andresearch around the hardware systems, software systems and themonitoring results. The part of hardware design mainly selects the appropriate CCD andimage acquisition card, and analyze the CCD imaging principle andcorresponding characteristic parameters based on the specificrequirements of experiment. In addition, in order to overcome the arclight intensity and continuous spectrum of TIG welding, this choosesappropriate pieces through analyzing spectrum. The part of software mainly composes a set of image acquisition and processing program based on LabVIEW software platform. In the designprocess, in order to see clearly the arc and welding pool, this introducesthe low-pass filtering, binarization, edge extraction and image processingalgorithms. In addition, in order to determine the relative position of thearc and welding pool as well as save the monitoring image information, this article increases the edge of positioning module and monitors therecording module. This article mainly monitors the TIG welding arc through themonitoring equipment, as well as extracts effective information of TIGwelding arc through edge extraction. And then, it further analyzes therelative position of arc and weld in the welding process through extracteddata.
