In the rapid development society, security becomes a very importantissue. In the field of national defense, aerospace, machinery and others,non-destructive has gradually become a very important method to ensurethe product quality and security and stability of performance. Thetraditional testing methods are resistance strain gage, X-ray, photoelastic, ultrasonic, neutron diffraction method and so on. These conventionaltesting methods have certain requirements on the shape of material andexternal conditions which is not convenient in the field measurement. Inthe1980s, the birth and development of Magnetic Barkhausen Noisetechnology provided a more convenient, fast and accurate non-destructivemethod which is an unlimited potential technology. In this paper, we present and analysis the mechanism andcharacteristics of Magnetic Barkhausen Noise and introduce thesuperiority in non-destructive testing. The technology can test stress, hardness and fatigue life of the ferromagnetic material non-pointcontinuously. By the theory of electrodynamics and elasticity, we describeMaxwell equations and lead to four expression forms of Maxwellequations and compare these different kinds of expressions. Meanwhile, we transform the Lorentz expression of Maxwell equations tofour-dimensional form. In addition, we describe the relationship of strain, stress and Magnetic Barkhausen Noise and provide the relationshipequation of strain, stress and magnetic field which provides a powerfultheoretical basis for non-destructive testing using Magnetic BarkhausenNoise.
