Wireless video intercom system has a certain application prospects. On the basis of the analysis and comparison of the general performance and characteristics of the existing intercom system, we design a common channel wireless video intercom system based on ARM and2.4G, and discuss some hardware and software designs of the major modules. The main function of the system is when people apply from the outdoor and get the permision of indoor side, a wireless connection can be established; meanwhile, the indoor-side can also take a view of the outdoor situation. The wireless connection can guarantee a real-time transmission of video and audio so that the function of door intercom can be established.Shenzhou III development board of the STM32microcontroller is designed as the core platform for research and design. With the use of the automatic addressing function of2.4G wireless intercom module, an one-to-many wireless communication is supported, its performance as a long transmission distance, high bandwidth, obstacles-free promise it a suitable wireless module for the door intercom.A color image of300000pixels can be captured by a serial camera, and output as the format of parallel8-bit data output, not only meet the requirement of data type of the transmission of wireless module, but also meet the identification of a human face; TFT LCD screen can display100*100color images, the audio capture/playback system can achieve two-derection transmission of voice. Meanwhile, the design is set to alarm through pressing the key and trigger the buzzer, and then confirm the realization of the communication process through the button.Finally, the system is verified to have the capability to transmission of50meter or more, satisfying the requirement of the buildings intercom communication. That the design can meet the functional requirements of the existing door intercom system, and has advantages as low-cost, reliable performance, simple design. This advantage promises a certain reference value of the door intercom development and related to researches.
