UPS, that is, uninterruptible power supplies, with an energy storage device (storage battery commonly used) and the inverter as the main component. It is mainly used for computer system or other power electronic devices. UPS can provide uninterrupted power supply which is high quality. Currently, UPS has been widely applied to various industries, and with innovation and development of the electronic components and control technology, UPS technology is also more and more new, and more and more models appear. UPS technology is gradually developing from based on the traditional analog circuit or microcontroller to DSP digital control. In the future, the technology of input power factor correction automatically and intelligent fault diagnosis detection, intelligent battery management and battery charging and discharging performance prediction, centralized remote UPS monitoring and other network-based will be widely used in intelligent UPS power supply, this is the future direction of DSP development.In this paper, with the background of the practical application of the UPS technology, in deep understanding of the basic principles of UPS, structure, characteristics and relevant theoretical knowledge, based on the production of TI, digital signal processing chip TMS320F2812DSP, I designed a digital UPS power. Through the design of the system, some of the key Technology of UPS can be known deeply through designing this system.Basic concepts of UPS, Prospects, Works, Related theories, Key Technologies are briefly introduced firstly in this paper. Basic composition and working principle of UPS are decrypted; the basic circuits commonly used in the UPS power supply were described deeply. Later the key technology of UPS such as pulse width modulation (PWM), power factor correction and harmonic suppression were in-depth research, Based on the theoretical analysis, the overall design was given, the block diagram of the system includes hardware and software design. In this system Hardware designing mainly includes rectifying filter circuit, power factor correction circuit, inverter circuit, battery charging and protection circuit, the sampling adjustment circuit of several parts and so on. Software design is a part of DSP control software, software design, which includes the main program and various interrupt subroutines, it is given in the flow chart. Finally, the performance of UPS device is tested and the results show that the system can work well.The subject of the design of digital UPS power supply has a strong practicability and can be used computer and some low-power electronic equipment as emergency power, with many of advantages such as smaller size, light weight, safety and no pollution. For high-power electronic devices, UPS power system only is modified according to relative requirements. The project pioneered the fault detection circuit added to the system, so that UPS has some fault capabilities of detection, and joined the mains bypass design, which is a major highlight of this design.At the end of this article, doing a summary and future prospect of the technology also raises the deficiencies of the system’s hardware and software. The UPS network and intelligence will be developed.
