With the development of information technology, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) which have been widely used in banking, securities, military, medical, aerospace and so forth, are widely selected for the protection of sensitive loads such as PC, communication systems and medical equipments. It can be said that inverter is the core of UPS and determines the quality of the output voltage waveform for the whole UPS system. Meanwhile, high-performance digital signal processor (DSP) has been rapid development made the digital control more precise for the UPS. Thus the stability and the reliability of the whole UPS system have been enhanced.In this paper, the design of a three-phase half-bridge inverter which controlled by voltage and current double loop based on TMS320C2812 is proposed. The main structures of the UPS are analyzed and synthesized. After that the merits of the three-phase half-bridge inverter are proved by comparing several electrical circuit structures of inverter and their principles of work. Then the three-phase half bridge inverter control model is established. The UPS system adopt three-phase half-bridge inverter which controlled by voltage and current double loop for the reason that the ability of the UPS with loads will be better, stronger and more reliable. So it can provide a finer power for the user. According to the hardware design of the UPS system, the software design based on the TMS320C2812 is introduced. The programs of the operating procedure are presented by analyzing the PWM driver program and A/D sample program. At the same time, the UPS system simulation model which adopts three-phase half-bridge inverter is built and the approach in this paper is demonstrated by Matlab simulation result. Finally, a preliminary design of UPS is proposed in this paper and the feasibility, innovation and superiority are proved though experiments.
