In the field of end data acquisition and transmission of the Internet of Things, the transmission is mainly based on Zigbee protocol, which is practical for transferring small amount of data such as temperature and humidity information. With the increasing demand of information diversification, audio and video data require to be transferred in many occasions, in which cases that the widely used Zigbee faces a bottleneck. In this paper, relying on the support of a project, the research and design of a high-speed wireless transmission system has been provided. The system, which is Wi-Fi-based, completed the real-time transmission of multimedia data, providing a considerable program of multimedia transmission.The paper gave out a specific program of audio and video transmission system based on Wi-Fi. With the analysis of the Wi-Fi protocol format, configuring Wi-Fi network layer, the paper combined high-speed transmission of Wi-Fi with video codec technology together to achieve the high-speed wireless data transmission of audio and video. The paper firstly study on principle of Wi-Fi protocol, analyzed the configuration principle and scalability of Wi-Fi and then carried out a detailed study of the entire architecture of transmission system about hardware and software, verifying high-speed transmission mechanism of Wi-Fi on level of implementation. In the system design part, a modular approach was adopted to realize the functional goal of the system. The system was divided into several steps, which is acquisition, networking, transmission, decoding and storage, to meet the ultimate requirement of the system. Finally, with the experimental results, the paper gave out an analysis of the transmission performance of Wi-Fi protocol, verified the practicality of it to be used to transfer audio and video data on experimental level.The experimental results show, that the design of the Wi-Fi-based audio and video transmission system achieved the requirements of the actual transmission of multimedia information. The acquisition node of the system, which is while performed on hardware, and accurate processing, companied with flexible Wi-Fi networking and high stability of data provided the monitor node a clear and reliable result. The realization of this system provided a reference value to wireless transmission of audio and video data.
