The research of multimedia information transmission based on open wireless spectrum is a new research direction, which integrates multimedia technology, the embedded system and the wireless network technology. This technology breaks the limit of the traditional communication system in network laying and network cost. With the edge of being portable, convenient with group network, with low power consumption and low cost, networking convenient, the technology is widely used in a lot of areas such as defense, mining and industrial production, etc.This paper makes a study of the key technology of video speech wireless transmission. Firstly, the significance of the research and the research status quo of related technology is analysed, with a brief introduction of the technology which is going to be used, including embedded system,video compression and IEEE802.11. Then, the paper explains the hardware selection and circuit design.Finally, the paper expounds on the system design principle and the scheme of the system.This paper employs related research with MX21 embedded development platform that producted by Motorola Inc. And we also use SAA7113H video collection chip as video acquisition module and FS453 daughter broad as TV output numbering module to realize the system function. Through the above description, the paper completes the hardware circuit design work of relevant control keyboard, video acquisition module, video output module, LCD display module and the system framework. At last, system program and related drivers are designed.And paper explains system use method by a example of mutual communication through the network interface on system.System program design is based on TCP transfer protocol and UDP+RTP mode which realizes the function of synchronous transmission and and rate control. With the use of IEEE802.11 wireless communication module, the system reaches the goal of transmitting video speech signal wirelessly.
