With the progress of the social and scientific and technological, especially the development of the electronic technology and measurement, the traditional measuring instruments and meters also produced tremendous change. Advanced intelligent machines have gradually replaced the past measuring instruments, so that measurement instruments in each aspect has undergone tremendous changes, such as precision, etc. Intelligent electronic scale with its high precision, simple operation, small size, fast response, and high efficiency is in various social occasions.They have been a measurement of the mainstream.Because of the electronic scales have some drawbacks like a single communication way, confined communication distance and the slowly speed of transmission and so on now,therefore the design based on ARM7core micro controller LPC1766, has a variety of means of communication of the multifunctional electronic scale. This design through the network module connects to Ethernet, it can be connected to do something like monitoring remote data, uploading or downloading the code of product traceability, remote data transmission and so on. It is the most distinctive of this design. This design not only solves the problem of electronic scale defects, but also greatly improves the work efficiency. This design has a low maintenance cost, good expansibility and other characteristics, it can be widely used in farmers’ markets and supermarkets and other places. It has a certain reference value for the electronic scale development. This paper collects the technical data of electronic weighing instrument in many aspects. First, we brief analysis and thorough research the electronic scale the current situation, and introduc the domestic and foreign electronic technology development, and summarize its advantages and disadvantages. Secondly, from the electronic scale’s stability, accuracy, function realization and other aspects, the paper discusses detailed. Base on them, it combines with the system’s functional requirements and the new technologies in the field of scales, designed the Multifunctional electronic scale.As for hardware design, this paper designs the program of main controller and the LCD display screen controller. The design of the main control board mostly included the circuit of system power, the minimum system circuit of main controller, the circuit of CS5460C, the circuit of USB, the circuit of network module and the circuit of FLASH memory. The design of the LCD display screen board included the system power circuit of the LCD display and the working circuit of display control chip HT1621.As for software design, this paper designs the program of main controller and LCD display from the perspective of modular design. The program of main controller is composed of the initialization of main controller, the collectioning CS5460C data procedures, scanning keyboard procedures and LCD display module procedures.The paper mainly introduces the CS5460C design of a data acquisition program.Finally, put forward to improve the system anti-interference and stability measures, through debugging the systm of software hardware to verify the design is reasonable, note some of the problems in the system design process, and looking forward to the next stage of the electronic scale development and design focus.
