IPTV system, also known as interactive Internet TV, using broadband cable network, multimedia, andcommunication technologies, provides a variety of interactive services including digital television to homeusers. It can be convenient to provide users with television broadcast and request program, interactiveentertainment, education training, online information queries and e-commerce and other digital mediaservices. It is because of IPTV offers the flexible interactive features and powerful Internet networkexpansibility, receives attention from major network operators, content providers, terminal equipmentmanufacturers and public in recent years.However, the current IPTV system also exists the following problems to solve:1. The storage andtransmission of the video occupies a lot of storage devices and network bandwidth, the traditional Client/Server architecture have been overwhelmed;2.The quality of multimedia data transmission is poor, thespeed is slow, the expansion of system capacity is limited;3. operators face with the need to buy to deploymore servers, network bandwidth, or the choice of the large-scale upgrading of the existing network,making the investment to increase and a sharp increase in maintenance costs. These problems not only agreat challenge for operators, also is becoming the bottleneck which constraints IPTV furtherdevelopment.P2P technology is the key to solve these problems affects the future development trends ofIPTV. The integration of P2P technology for the IPTV terminal system provides a broad space fordevelopment, represents the mainstream of the development of IPTV technology.This paper firstly makes brief analysis and study for P2P technology and IPTV terminal system,specifically introduced the related concept of P2P technology, its own technical advantages, the modelstructure and development prospects, and then, through inductive analysis of the knowledge of the IPTVterminal system, points out that its existing problems and bottlenecks in the development and clarifies thesignificance of the research of IPTV terminal system based on P2P.Secondly, this paper makes corresponding study on the current key technologies of IPTV terminalsystem based on P2P, the studies focused on the slice data content distribution mechanism based on P2Pand streaming media scheduling mechanism. Focusing on the CDN and P2P technology combined with the mixed streaming system, proposes a new flow-optimized packet routing solution. On the other hand, makesthe corresponding improvement for the streaming media data slice scheduling mechanism.Finally, this paper designed a application layer multicast scheme based on P2P.And implements thelive broadcast function of IPTV terminal system based on P2P.
