Journal Of Science And Technology Development In Henan Province

The first part of this thesis mainly studied the status quo of the Science and Technology Journal ofHenan province. Employees’ age and educational structure comparatively reasonable, while relatively lackof the achievement, lower average circulation, less business channel, little income of advertising revenue,the majority of the entire operating income from circulation revenue were objectively reflected throughdata statistics.The second part of this thesis is a sample study of the scientific and technical journals, stressing on theinadequacies of the revised magazine--Henan Science and Technology. The main points include the poorquality of the paper; lack of project papers; some columns not reasonable enough; contents list, text titles,drawings with impropriety; and the labeling error of punctuation, foreign letters etc.The third part of this thesis studied the problems and insufficiency of Henan science and technologyjournals from two levels--journal concept and operation. From the concept, the problems mainly cause bythe stubborn and aging thoughts of some journal workers; and some journals’ position not accurate, withvague audience. From the operation, the problems mainly cause by single business channel; lack ofmanagement and development of advertisement; some of journal editors not strict with the papers’ quality,lead to few manuscript were of poor quality.The fourth part of this thesis researches the development advantages of the Henan science andtechnology journals from external environment and internal environment. The implementation of thestrategy that the nation-building of Central Plains Economic Zone, the proposing of the Three Changesstrategy of Henan province and the development of scientific research institutions in Henan Provinceprovide a good external environment and the talent base. While completed journal categories, strictre-reading of journal quality editing give a solid internal environment for the development of scientific andtechnical journals in Henan Province.In the fifth part of this thesis, according to the problems and deficiencies of Henan science andtechnology journals, and combining the advanced environment it can be rely on, I believes that the development of Henan science and technology journals can be improved by the following aspects: accuratepositioning; strengthen readers’ meaning; free from regulatory restraints, to enable young editor; to expandthe channels; to develop the advertising resources; to make expert reviewers and to improve the standardof manuscript quality.
