With the development of social and the advancement of technology, theadvertising market is undergoing a huge change. In the present era only known how touse the power of technology is the way to survival in the society. So Multimediaadvertising machines of this new advertising medium came into being. But it’sdifferent from other traditional advertising media vary. The multimedia advertisingwhich is digital economy and information once put into the market, it can quicklydominate the market with its technological advantages, and become one of thehighlights of the advertising media market. Associated the multimedia advertising andthe network to be the formation of today’s popular. Not only saves manpower andmaterial resources, improve efficiency, adapt to market trends, also realized thepurpose of maximizing the interests of advertisers.This project is mainly based on ARM+Linux development environment. Theentire project from the point of view is divided into two modules of the hardware partand the software part. The hardware part is involved in the development process ofthe Digital Signage hardware development platform, such as the ARM developmentboard, infrared remote control devices and other hardware devices. The software partis mainly involved in the development process of the Digital Signage softwaredevelopment environment, interprocess communication protocols, databasedevelopment and application development. The software part can be subdivided intothree modules: monitoring client, server side, the advertising side. Finally, thenetwork Socket communication between the various modules.This paper combines the development of the project, the first embeddeddevelopment environment and its structures are introduced briefly, through the comparison of multiple development environment, the select the right developmentplatform-ARM+Linux. And the hardware part is introduced briefly.And then focus on the software development part. The first is monitoringModule, through a Web browser to monitor the advertising machine playerinformation and play status. Users log in the Web browser with its permission for thecorresponding operation. The advertising Module consists of four parts, video playarea; pictures play area and scrolling marquee play area. Using of QT for designinginterface. The advertising Module has infrared remote control functionality, theadvertising Module in addition to monitoring its play status by remote control, it canbe monitored by infrared remote control. In the design part of this module, will be adetailed description of infrared driver development. The video section by callingMplayer player for video playback, picture and text area by Frambuffer mechanism toachieve. The server side is used to store advertising player file information: includingvideo files, picture files and text messages, the database holds the advertising sideplay status and history play record.This involves the logical database structure designand the physical structure, this part will give a description of the logical databasestructure design part in detail, and gives the realization of its physical structure, tostudy and describe the establishment of the database and CRUD functionality.And then stat the system testing and analysis section, on the QT Module testing,server side Module testing, monitoring Module testing, advertising Module testing,and find the problems in the development process, and give a solution, and a detailedrecord. Finally, do the joint cross-debugging. Ensure the stability of the systemrequirements.Digital Signage as an important application in the embedded field, combinedwith today’s business environment, the road of development is still long, I believe, itsfunctionality will be enriched day after day if we do in-depth research and design. Thesignificance of this paper is providing the research direction and method to the DigitalSignage of its initial development, and laid a solid foundation for future in depthstudy and application.
