With the development of information technology in education, virtual realitytechnology has become a hot focus in educational technology today following themultimedia technology、computer network technology. In order to change thetraditional passive learning mode into the modern learning mode that takes theinitiative to explore the knowledge, a realistic three-dimensional courseware has beenintroduced into the classroom teaching by many teachers and well received bystudents. But the production of three-dimensional courseware is highly difficult, due to theoverwhelming majority of all kinds of things in the real world are irregular geometricobjects, and in order to reflect the color, material, texture and other elements of theobject model, you need to add a variety of different textures to it. The operation of thispart of the work is very tedious and time-consuming for educational softwaredesigners. Because so far there is no development tool or development software whichcould solve the problem of multiple texture mapping on the surface of the same objectefficiently. Although 3DMAX has the function of multi-dimensional sub-objectmapping, this can only handle the relatively simple and irregular three-dimensionalmodel. But for the complex three-dimensional model, educational software designersneed to take more time and effort, and naturally it will affect the entire educationalsoftware production cycle. The issue is the texture mapping technology on the localthree-dimensional surface in the educational software, selecting the Java3Dtechnology to solve the problem of adding different texture on the same object model. The main advantage of this issue is that for the technical personnel who are engagedin the development of teaching resources in non-computer area, through the localtexture mapping technology the issue studies, which can greatly reduce the productioncycle of three-dimensional model of educational software and is simple to operate, easy to grasp, you just need to click the mouse to determine the local texture mappingarea and then complete the local texture effect. The paper adopted the literature method to do the summary introduction to virtualreality and Java3D, analyzed and studied the texture mapping technique, thus got afeasible solution to the problem. First, make use of the triangular network or therectangular network to build models and simultaneously do the first texture mapping, then circle the region which needs to be re-added texture, filter the triangles of theregion and do the second texture mapping to achieve the local texture mapping effecton three-dimensional objects. Last, summarize the work of this article, and point outthe deficiency of and the outlook. The above program was achieved mainly throughthe experimental method.Through the study of this issue, the author attempts to provide the educationaland technical personnel who are engaged in the development of teaching resources innon-computer area with a fast texture mapping method on the local three-dimensionalsurface, and the final study results of the subject will put forward a greater applicationvalue on the production of three-dimensional educational software.
