ZigBee technology is a kind of short-range wireless communication technology based on IEEE8.2.15.4protocol standard, it has low cost, low complexity, low data rate, low power consumption and network capacity characteristics,etc. Those can be widely used in various fields, such as home network, industry control, medical equipment control, industrial wireless location, consumer electronics and automobile automation, building automation. ZigBee technology can support multiple network topology structure, having powerful networking function. Through the relay mode transmission of the network routing node, ZigBee technology can form high routing depth and large-scale network node wireless communication network, which has self-organizing and self-healing function. At present, researches about ZigBee technology mainly focus on the algorithm designed for protocol layers, the development of protocol stack, application prospects and so on, but researchers pay little attention to the specific ZigBee network performance study. This paper mainly studies the ZigBee routing realization mode and measure, analyses ZigBee network performance, which provides the basis for the specific ZigBee networking applications.First, this paper introduces ZigBee technology application prospect and technical characteristics, simply introduces the other common short-range wireless communication technology, analyzes the advantages of ZigBee technology. What’s more, the paper also describes the frame of the protocol structures and functions detailedly, such as ZigBee physical layer, media access control layer, network layer and the application layer, etc.Second,the paper introduces ZigBee network node function, network topology structure and network networking process detailedly, thoroughly researches ZigBee network tree routing algorithm (Cluster-tree), AODVjr algorithm, design of ZigBee multilevel routing algorithm and detailed process of ZigBee multilevel routing algorithm realization and the detailed process of the realization of ZigBee network routing.Then, constructing a ZigBee wireless network in the laboratory environment for testing the ZigBee network path capacity, network delay and network packet loss rate and other network performance parameters, analyzing the network performance. Finally, constructing a multi-level routing ZigBee monitoring system network of temperature and humidity, measuring and analysing measured data of the ZigBee network, which not only provides the reference basis for more mass ZigBee wireless monitoring network,such as ZigBee wireless greenhouse monitoring system network and ZigBee wireless building fire prevention monitoring system network, but also provides the reference basis for specific ZigBee networking application.
