Fault injection is an important technical way of product testing trials. In the INS testability equipment which was developed for some aviation company, the fault injector offers three kinds of fault injection, which are the bus communication, the analog signal and the power fault injection, the each fault injection includes physical, electrical and protocol layer. They are used to verify the testing design in INS.The following work has been completed independently:First, the functional requirements has been analysised for fault injection control system, then the system was divided into three subsystems based on the requirements result, including bus communication fault injection subsystem, analoy signal fault injection subsystem, and power fault injection subsystem. And then the each subsystem was divided into some function modular parts, in order to establish the clear modular structure. The LXI (LAN eXtensions for Instrumentation) software and hardware architecture, the virtual instrument technology and LabWindows/CVI object programming ideas were used in this paper. Then detailed design of every parts has been down, including the physical, electrical and protocol layer of bus communication, the arbitrary waveform generation, the electrical layer and physical layer of analoy signal fault injection, the completely disconnection, connecting load, and directly connection of power fault injection. The design includes functional process and the function interface.The detailed implementation of the system has been developed after the design has been down. And then an comprehensive testing on the fault injection control system has also been developed. By analysising the testing results, it can be drawn that the internal functions of the LXI instrument which was designed in this paper can totally achieve the requirements in the LXI specification for Class C equipment, it can also meet the actual project needs. This system has been successfully applied in the system integration of INS, with fine development prospects.
