With the rapid development of network information technology, the demand for agricultural informatization has been increasingly urgent, but the existing Internet technology could not meet the deeper, more complex, more intelligent application demand. In this context, the "Internet of things" emerges as the times require, providing an unprecedented opportunity for the development of intelligent agriculture. In August2009, Premier Wen Jiabao put forward "the perception of China" when he visited Wuxi. Thereafter, the development of the Internet of things started an upsurge in the mainland. On February14,2012, the Ministry of Information Industry published the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" of the Internet of things on its website, thus promoting the Internet of things to a national strategic position. China is a large agricultural country, the quality of agricultural informatization construction not only related to national economy and people’s livelihood, but also to the economic development and social progress.Introducing the Internet of Things to intelligent agriculture and promoting the construction of agricultural informatization comprehensively, through the application of M2M technology, RFID technology, WSN network, data mining and intelligent learning knowledge, relying on the seamless connection between mobile wireless network (GPRS,3G,etc.) and the Internet, integrating the bottom of the sensor, agricultural machinery equipment and video monitor, there has formed an intelligent sensing and remote control monitoring system, thus implementing "comprehensive perception, wireless transmission, intelligent processing". Meanwhile, the users are able to check the environment and equipment information of field or agricultural greenhouse through mobile phone, computer or PDA no matter whenever and wherever they are. Moreover, it can control agricultural machinery equipment remotely, completely getting the rid of geographical restrictions of space and time. In addition, if there is an abnormal condition on the scene, the system will send alarm information to the binding mobile phone automatically.The application of the key technologies such as the Internet of things turns the desire of" planting on mobile phone or computer " and management philosophy of" map out strategies within a command tent will assure victory a thousand miles away" into reality, which changes the extensive management of agriculture, increases agricultural production efficiency and output and accelerates the process of agricultural modernization.
