SAW-RFID is widely used in Modern Electronics、acoustics、semiconductormicroelectronics technology and radar signal processing technology, and it is also animportant component of automatic recognizing technology and information saving andtransferring technology. SAW-RFID has many advantages than traditional RFID whichmainly fabricated by IC. The technology of SAW has strong immunity to electromagneticinterference、high temperature、radiation,it can be used in the metal、liquid products、foodor medicine and any other products which need high-energy X-ray or gamma ray to eliminatebacteria. SAW-RFID tag is passive components, and without using any external power, so itrequires a lower reader radiated power which is only one percent of conventional IC tags.SAW-RFID tag also has the dual function of the recognition and sensing.The development process and working principle of SAW-RFID tag were introduced in thispaper, and the IDT/ZnO/metal/diamond multilayers structure resonator of SAW-RFID wasfabricated. SAW resonators have narrow bandwidth、high Q and low insertion loss, so the tagsfabricated by SAW resonators also have such advantages. Static capacitances and portresistance of one-port resonator were measured by Semiconductor Device Analyzer, which areabout 50.1914pf and 48.7Ωrespectively. Based on the matching results between theresonator and the antenna with the input resistor of 50 , a novel dipole antenna is designed,which has make an improvement in the gain and effective bandwidth compared with theconventional antenna. Withδ=3°, the maximum gain is 0.192 which is 6.6 times as much asthe conventional antenna gain. Therefore, the tag identification distance of the novel dipoleantenna is about nine times larger than that of traditional dipole antenna.
