With the further development of wireless network, in the field of automation, more and more people are enthusiastic about the industrial wireless technology research. At the same time people at home and abroad are synchronous research on development application in industrial production site of the related network technology and its supporting communication protocol standard. With the United States, Germany enterprises as the representative of the relevant institutions have invested huge energy and resources to develop related technology research. Now some communication protocol standard is the United States of America wireless instrumentation systems and Automation Society launched by the ISA SP100.11a standard, and the HART Foundation launched the Wireless HART standard. At home, by the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenyang Institute of automation, Southwestern University, and other units more than l0as the representative of the Chinese industrial wireless network alliance after several years of efforts, finally introduced in process automation of industrial wireless network WIA communication protocol, and in October31,2008received IEC approval, were included in the formulation of the international standard projectIndustrial wireless network WIA-PA as a new technology, has high real-time performance, high reliability, low power consumption and low cost characteristics, it uses star and mesh (Mesh) combined with double network topology structure, the technology of WIA-PA protocol stack in the hierarchy, using the TDMA and a series of saving the energy consumption of the network design, however, in the WIA network general network node which is composed of a battery powered, every node on an initial energy reserves to maintain, therefore, such a network also means that for every node, which afraid is one of the one or two node energy depletion also will affect the performance of the whole network (such as routing), and in general, network node energy cannot be added from outside, therefore, without affecting the normal communication under the premise, the node energy saving is very necessary.In this paper the author participated in the WIA-PA network research and development work, on the WIA-PA network energy consumption problems in-depth study, found the average energy saving mode used in the global time scheduling mechanism on network node energy waste caused obvious, thus affecting the overall network life cycle. Combining WIA-PA industrial wireless network characteristics and network energy consumption demand, in IEEE802.11energy-saving mode under the foundation, put forward a kind of distributed network nodes sleep arousal mechanisms, namely network node activation time slot into a specific distribution, ensure each other between the slots have overlapped, and the activation time slot accounted for the proportion of total time as small as possible, so that can not influence normal communication between network nodes under the premise, reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes, eventually prolong the network lifetime and improve the energy efficiency of the network.This paper firstly analyzes the current study IEEE802.11energy-saving mechanism related characteristics, combined with WIA network’s characteristics, and points out that IEEE802.11in sleep-wake mechanisms shortcomings:it is a global time scheduling, regardless of whether the node is in active state, through to the transmitting beacon frames to request data and monitoring is there to receive data, from the node energy consumption distribution of view, sends a signal to the energy consumption is the largest. In view of the deficiencies of the nodes in the network, the sleep wake-up mechanism based on Quorum time slot distribution of QB algorithm, the node is in the activation state of transmitting beacon frames, so that by reducing the beacon frame transmission to reduce the network node energy consumption; then based on the advanced by means of adaptive adjustment the order of Quorum adaptive QB algorithm to balance the network energy consumption, improve the network energy consumption, thereby prolonging the lifetime of the whole networks; finally in order to verify the proposed adaptive QB algorithm’s performance, according to the simulation environment, and QB algorithm is compared, and the results were analyzed, through the simulation results display using adaptive QB algorithm of WIA-PA network than QB algorithm using WIA-PA network extending the life cycle of about25%, and the average network delay and the throughput of the network did not decrease significantly. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that, compared with the QB algorithm using dormancy mechanism, adaptive QB algorithm dormancy mechanism more save network energy consumption, better expansibility, thus validating the QB adaptive algorithm applied to WIA-PA validity.
