With the quick development of modern logistics informationization, the research of RFID middleware to be used in the storage warehouse will be an important issue to the modern logistics informationization. Based on the RFID middleware-related technology research and analysis, this paper presents the definition of RFID middleware and its architecture. Then it discusses the applications with RFID middleware and its significance. According to the project background of this issue, this paper presents a RFID middleware design proposal which is based on the storage warehouse applications. This RFID middleware will take an intelligent and automatic management which will replace the inefficient duplication of manual processes to monitor the key points of logistics processes in the warehouse. The main research achievements in this paper are given as below.Firstly, according to the RFID middleware-related technology research and analysis, paper presents the definition of RFID middleware and its architecture. And it discusses the applications with RFID middleware and its significance.Secondly, based on the requirements which belong to BUPT intelligent logistics system platform project that monitor the key points of logistics processes in the warehouse, paper makes a business process design and feasibility analysis.Thirdly, design the database model. This paper makes analysis and design to the database model with the Power Designer 12.5, and then uses the Oracle 10G to Set up a back-end database server.Fourthly, design the Architecture of the RFID middleware and develop it. Paper selects FAVITE FS-GM201 as the RFID reader, using Visual Studio 2005 development environment and C# language which supports NET Framework to complete the functions of RFID middleware.Finally, paper makes a performance testing to the RFID middleware which has been developed. The testing is based on the automated warehouse environment of BUPT. The testing effectively verifies the stability of the RFID middleware.
