With the fast development of electric industry especially the consumers, the growth of memory products is becoming the major flagship of the whole industry technology. Driven by the development of Flash Memory, the Moore’s Law is challenged continuously by Memory product’s generation change. And NAND Flash has entered 2X nm technology with DRAM in 3X nm phases. The SSD technique, no doubt, becomes the new trigger for another reason for the development of NAND Flash and Storage industry. This research dissertation is aiming to discuss how is SSD and how to optimize its system based on my personal work experience and research.Firstly, the dissertation introduces Memory IC s overall development and main types of product, with respective characters. Next, turns the focus to the function principles and development history of Flash memories. And the status of technique, industry, marketing and application of NAND Flash will be discussed afterwards. The SSD technology is introduced in the last.Secondly, the development history and main suppliers of SSD technology is introduced and two mostly important factors of SSD:NAND Flash & Controller IC. Meanwhile, one of my working experience of company’s SSD issue will be described. And the issue talks about how to improve the controller IC in Samsung’s SSD PM-Series product.Lastly, I will analyze and forecast the future of SSD product, discussing the development of both SSD application market and the trend of its techniques. A summary will be concluded in the final part of the dissertation.
