Design And Implementation Of HLA Federation Based On Web Services

HLA (High Level Architecture) distributed interactive simulation technology is of distributivity and interactivity, heterogeneous and open. However, there are bottlenecks making HLA system unsuitable for large scale and networking demands of simulation application. The bottlenecks are HLA’s strong dependency on language and platform, high coupling between federates and RTI, and RTI’s solely use in Local Area Network (LAN) and private network also caused the unsharing of simulation resource.This paper adopts Web service technique to make HLA federate architecture, original RTI and federates as a service, thus problems above are to be solved successfully. The following aspects are included:1) Analyzed the main problems from HLA simulation system, and probing into the advantages of realizing HLA simulation system by using Web service.2) Designed a federation architecture based on Web service, providing a way to make federation development as a service. It helps to solve the problem of second service encapsulation of different simulation application and realized the structure’s general apply and reuse.3) Designed RTI based on Web service, solved the problems such as the data transfer between Web service and Java, federates interface callback service and federates’downward compatibility.4) Designed and realized WS federates framework. By the research on framework-based WS federates code generation technique, WS federates code generator was made.5) Realized chatting software on the basis of web service-based federation system, WS-RTI, and WS federates code generator.The paper is different from others with the following innovativity:1) Used configuration information to maintain the interact between federates and RTI in the process of WS-RTI, solved the problem that SOAP proctocal couldn’t reserve certain state. It’s unconstrained and of more flexibility.2) The abstraction of common part between WS federates code and RTI,WS federate framework, shidding the details between WS federates and RTI reduced the compling complexity and realized a high-efficiency WS simulation development.The realized HLA federation based on Web service in this paper achieves the realization of simulation resource reusablity in wide range, and the interconnection of heterogeneous data structure system, thus promoting the generating efficiency, and improving the reusability and interoperability of simulation system.
