In recent years, China’s vocational education model is undergoing unprecedentedreform. Work process-oriented programs have become China’s current and futuredirection of the reform in vocational education courses. And Adaptive learning, whichin essence breaks the traditional remote education content, is a totally new learningconcept and method. It is the trend of education model development in the future.How to smoothly integrate the adaptive learning system with the workprocess-oriented study in vocational education is a significant issue.In this paper, the writer tries to combine the work process-oriented teaching modein vocational education with the adaptive learning in computer-aided teaching todesign and realize an adaptive learning system by taking advantage of the computernetwork. This adaptive learning system will not only satisfy students’individual needsbut also in line with characteristics of vocational teaching. Only through this system,can we attain the training objectives and teach in accordance with students’aptitude.Specific content includes the following aspects:(1) Study the work process-oriented vocational education model. Construct thesystematic relationship between learning situation and sub-situation with ISM. Thenconstruct a learning situation database that has characteristics of vocational learningby embedding learning situation into system database in order to help realize thesupport system of adaptive learning.(2) Build a learning model which corresponds to the characteristics of vocationalstudents. Taking students’cognitive style and cognitive load as determining factors,we can realize adaptive navigation of learning situation, adaptive presentation oflearning content and adaptive options of learning strategies.(3) Combine the formative evaluation and summative evaluation, teacher’s evaluation and students’evaluation according to features of work process-orientedvocational teaching mode. Evaluate Students’knowledge, abilities and attitude byusing ambiguous comprehensive evaluation, the result of which will be a basis forpresentation of adaptive contents.(4) Implement and design a work process-oriented adaptive teaching systembased on B/S platform. Though they system’s actual operation, we found that scoresof practical operation of students from experimental class are generally higher thanthose of students from ordinary class by 10% when they are studying the samelearning field. Thus to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the adaptivemechanism and evaluation mechanism provided by this paper.
