This paper studies the reception and processing of the LTE downlink signals, focusing on the cell search, synchronization and channel estimation process. Based on the software radio manner, the author finally realizes the LTE signals acquisition and receiving system. Based on the receiving system, we make the research and evaluation of LTE channel estimation, channel measurement, finally put forward aiming at the typical scenes of the channel estimation algorithm for high speed railway.This paper is divided into two parts, the first one is high-speed data acquisition card for LTE signal, the second is to process and analyze the collected LTE signals on the host computer. The part of host computer is the main section in this paper, in which we research the LTE-related parts in the3GPP LTE-related protocals and achieve the synchronization and demodulation of LTE signal. For different scenarios of signal we assess the current channel characteristics and make the channel estimation. The other part is the high-speed data acquisition card, as this hardware extension in this paper, making the main achievement of the RF signal receiver, A/D converter and FPGA control and signal processing, etc. and ultimately get the baseband signal for the host computer’s analysis.This paper uses the method of combining software and hardware to achieve the RF signal receiving and the whole process of LTE signal processing. Further more, by the way of extracting information out of the reference channel, channel characteristics are assessed to achieve the channel estimation.In the end of this paper, for the typical high-speed rail channel scenarios, a special channel estimation method is proposed and the superiority of the method is approved during the simulation. In recent years high speed railway in the way people travel occupy an increasingly large proportion, so it is of certain practical significance to pay attention to LTE user communication in the high speed railway scene.
