As one of natural disasters, the earthquake will cause billions of dollars economic losses and millions of people lost their lives around the world each year with its great powerful energy. The Wenchuan8.0-magnitude earthquake which caused lots of people lost their homes and tens of thousands of people dead shocked the world in May12th.2008.After that, Premier Wen Jiabao denoted that the Earthquake Ruins Museum should be built as a valuable asset to warn people and educate future generations when he went into the old town of Beichuan once again.Radio Frequency Identification is an automatic identification technology which use space coupling of the RF signals (no optical or mechanical contact) to establish two-way data communications between the reader and the tag. The technology has multi-target identification, far identification distance and identification stable performance characteristics, At present, it has widely used in production automation, air parcels, logistics management, and many fields.Our country is building the first earthquake remains museum on the word and the thesis is based on this (National863Plans Projects) to research. Considering the museum own characteristics, through research positioning technology of the RFID, a monitoring system was designed to meet the demand of the progress of the museum. Put the reader placed in the museum and around the group of earthquake site to form a safety monitor area, the reader can get the information from the tags when visitors enter the area and theirs location can displayed on the electronic map. The system which uses the ArcGIS Engine second development function in C#environment realized some functions, such as tourist information management, map manager, safety monitoring and the route tracking. The detailed research methods, content and the results were as follows:1. Considering the particularity of the earthquake ruins museum, this text use the RFID technology to propose the layout scheme of the reader and tag through analyzing the classification and the function of the museum. 2. Combined RFID technology with GIS technology, through research of the dangerous alarm trigger technology to lock the visitors and plot their route on the map;3. Through development of the SQL Server2005database, combining C#and ArcGIS Engine to finish the whole system.
