Chinese Characters Recognition Based On Simplified Characteristic Value

Portable intelligent reading implement’s (blind reading implement) function is to allow patients with eye diseases to be able to read books, and that the optical character recognition (OCR) is the core technology and one of directions in computer applications. Chinese character recognition base on image pretreatment, then developed feasible solutions to solve practical problems, and that characteristic extraction is the key. According to the characteristics of the Chinese character image, using an encoding, and to compile the code value for the characterization of the Chinese characters, the simplified characteristic value extracted from Chinese character recognition is the main contents of this article.In this paper, it includes the image pretreatment of Chinese characters and Chinese character recognition, and that pretreatment part includes the image gray, binary, image correction, text segmentation size normalized and stroke width normalization; identify part mainly includes the characteristic extraction and recognition algorithm. First, according to the structural characteristics of the Chinese characters, extracted four sub-graph from Chinese character images; followed, got the intersection points by the combination of these four sub-map; third, got the number of strokes by the respective sub-graph, Four, according to the stroke pixels, got the length of each stroke, a total of ten stroke length type. Next, encoded according to these feature vectors, you can get a shorter code value, not only saving memory space, but also in the follow-up template matching to be more quickly to improve the recognition rate. Last, using the training image samples to establish standard character library, achieved the results of the identification. Through the experimental comparison and analysis, the recognition rate of this algorithm is good.Test results show that the recognition algorithm has a high recognition rate, and a certain degree of accuracy. Laid the foundation for further research and developed work for portable intelligent reading implement in the future.
