In recent years, with the rapid development and the increasing mature of communication technology, sensor technology and embedded computer technology, the micro-sensor which has computing and communication capability goes into a wide range of worldwide.Wireless sensor network has become one of the current hotspot currently.Wireless sensor network embeds the sensor technology,computing technology, distributed information processing technology and wireless communication technology, which is capable of real time monitoring, sensing and collecting the monitoring information of the object and environment in the region of. network distribution and processes with the advanced technology, information fusion technology. Finally, it delivers accurate and detailed information to the user.Wireless sensor network, known as the top ten emerging technologies have a profound impact on the future of humanity living. Wireless sensor networ has been widely used in environmental protection and monitoring, medical care, security and military assistance, home furnishing, intelligent building monitoring, modern transportation and modern agriculture and other aspects now. At present,as a frontier research field, it is still in development stage and has great potential to development.In this paper, aiming at the wireless sensor in monitoring applications, we design the wireless sensor network which is based on the of environment monitoring system. Firstly, we take a detailed introduction to the structure of wireless sensor network and the research status at home and abroad,as well as wireless sensor in monitoring the application and characteristics. Sencondly, we analyze the overall design of the system and designs the hardware framework of the nodes and complete the various functional modules of the nodes. we study the wireless sensor network TinyOS operationg system which is based on the nesC language in depth. and give the node of the software design and implementation process. Finally data display, storage, query, network topology display and monitoring alarm function of the environment monitoring system is realized.
