Research And Improvement Of LEACH In The Wireless Sensor Network Based On The Coverage Rate

Wireless sensor network technology has been developing rapidly during the recent ten years. With the compact design, cheap price, and good self-organization of its node, the technology is broadly applied to different kinds of fields including military, medical care, environmental monitoring, automatic industry, etc. Wireless sensor network centers on data, and the power of which is generally supplied by battery. However, the battery is not replaceable under normal condition. Therefore, how to optimize the energy utilization ratio of the node becomes the crucial technologies of wireless sensor network application, as well as the focus and difficulty in recent research.On the basis of structure and various routing protocol analysis to wireless sensor network, the article aims to improve the LEACH protocol of the present wireless sensor network routing protocol, and stage a new one, namely LEACH-Coverage protocol. The new protocol is added with new election conditions like neighboring and working node, and compensates the weakness of LEACH protocol in energy efficient and information acquisition consumption. Finally it makes the best of MATLAB simulation for comparative simulation from the aspect of cluster head cover, life cycle, and network average coverage.The contents are as following:(1) Outline the research background, the significance, and present study condition at home and abroad of wireless sensor network.(2) Elaboration on system structure, feature and relative technology of wireless sensor network; Characteristic comparison with wireless self-organization network.(3) Classified introduction to wireless sensor network routing protocol; analysis and comparison to representative routing protocol.(4) Primary study to LEACH protocol, analysis on calculating procedure and operation feature, and summation of its strength and weakness.(5) Based on the thoroughly analysis of LEACH protocol, the LEACH-Coverage protocol is advanced to improve the LEACH protocol. The new protocol compensates the weakness of LEACH protocol in energy efficient and information acquisition consumption, and improves the network energy efficiency, thus extend the life cycle of wireless sensor network.(6) Make MATLAB comparative simulation according to the above improved protocol. It can be seen by the result that compared with former LEACH protocol, the new one not only reduces the network energy consumption, but lengthens network life cycle. And the advantage will be more obvious where the network node is intensively distributed.
