Staff identification in military campus is essential to the national security. The grim global situation and fierce military combat demand a staff face identification system which can control the entrance and exit of military campuses. Under the premise of ensuring recognition accuracy, non-contact and secluded model is preferred. The face identification and alert system based on RFID technology in this paper can meet these requirements.Identification can be accomplished in a secluded way taking the advantage that human face could be digitalized remotely by cameras. Each RFID card is given a unique64bit number in which case it is impossible for two cards to share the same number.16encryption programs were written in the card and the complexity of the algorithm determines its high security. The identification system gains better performance in terms of determining digital face characteristics. All these facts ensure the system with a highly secure performance.Three modules were designed in the paper. In the first module, all staff were pre-registered in the RFID card with personal information while face photos were taken by cameras and digital face characteristics were got through the extraction algorithm. RFID cards were distributed with integrated personal and face information. In the second module, concealed cameras automatically capture the face image after the staff entered the detection region of the system and the face characteristic is converted to digital signals through extraction algorithm. At the same time the card information of the staff is read by the RFID card reader through the concealed antenna and the digital signals are compared with the loaded card information in the system. In the third module, the comparison result is displayed in the LCD. In case of consistence the system will output OK, in other cases, the system will display alarms. The combination of the three modules has succeeded in controlling and managing staff.The system was tested in the guard room and the confidential room in the author’s workplace. The system was proved to be effective with a stable performance and reach the goals of low power consumption and secluded non-contacted detection.
