Identity authentication is needed in almost all aspects of social life, and its requirements for security and humanity is on the increasing. Traditional identity authentication is realized by such ways as passwords match and card punching, which has the advantage of simple structure and low cost, however, they also possess the defects of low security and easy-to-forget passwords. In recent years, the technology of face recognition has become a hot area due to its merits of easiness, high safety, and conformity to human recognition habits; yet it is also with the limitations in identification performance and stability. In view of these factors, this paper presents the design solution of adopting Freescale's highly reliable Ethernet solution MCF52233 as the master chip, combining Face Recognition technology with RFID, so as to actualize the authentication system based on Face Recognition and RFID (FRAS). It has integrated the strong points of the above two mentioned ways of identification by trying to remove their weak points, therefore, it has the advantages of flexible combination, safety level and automatic learning capability to the failed face recongnition.Based on classified analysis of existing face detection and recognition methods, this paper selects the face detection and recognition software system design based on Adaboost and EHMM, in an effort to carry out face detection and recognition function in server side. Following modular hardware and software design, this paper gives the detailed design of hardware module circuit and interface, and tests the validity of the hardware module and its driver by combining software and hardware. In accordance with application requirements of the system, the author designs a streamlined TCP/IP protocol stack to implement the communication function of embedded Ethernet. On this basis, the author designs systematic data protocol of communication, and ensures the reliability for large amounts of data transmitted through the network. The paper elaborates the design and implementation of face detection, face recognition, image acquisition and implementation of radio frequency-cards information access. It also focuses on the problems which are encountered during the design and realization of hardware and software. Finally, the author provides an application example of the system design to verify the accuracy and reliability of hardware and software design, which shows that the system has sound recognition performance and can provide a reference for the future development of similar products.
