Painting robots are the combination of robotics technology and painting equipment, mainly used for the anticorrosion and decorate of product surface, especially for the automotive, aerospace and electronic product manufacturing and relative industries. Painting robot has high level of automation, high efficiency and easy to fulfill flexible manufacturing and energy saving and environmental protection etc. It’s quite different from other robots in design and manufacture due to its working environment.China have been developing the industrial robots for a long time, and we have made a lot of progress in technology research and design level by R&D, production and application after years of development. But domestic industrial robot has not formed industrialization because of the weak basis parts manufacturing ability. It leads to that the domestic market of industrial robots is occupied by foreign company, and we cannot even see one robot (especially painting robot) in the vehicle production line in China. Painting robots industry is still in its infancy in China now.The key point to promote the development of industrial robot in China is industrialization. According to the short-term and medium-long term goal established for spraying robots industrialization, we started the fundamental but very important development work of mechanical prototype cooperated with some enterprise. We finished the prototype drawing according to the layout of industrialization on the basis of practical investigate and survey, the prototype has been put into production now, besides these, we have done relative technical research based on the above, mainly included:1. Collect information. especially about the structure analysis for the advanced domestic and foreign robot products, accumulate design data, and based on this, determine the robot structure scheme, assess the comprehensive technical economy;2. Design the function structure and process structure of key parts, plan the layout of key transmission parts, connecting parts, and hinged items, meanwhile we also have to consider the exterior appearance and complete the engineering drawing of the prototype, carrying out the prototype manufacturing process and jigs design research, and set it as the basis for the design improvement in the future.3. Proceed the research on the transmission parts, explosion-proof and line layout. These items are difference from conventional industrial robots due to the particularity working environment of painting robots.4. Proceed analysis and research on kinematics and dynamics theory, plan the design basis of painting robots transmission components, determine the parameters selection of prototype parts and the lightweight design research...
