With the rapid progress of computer networks and multimedia technology, thetechnology of video monitoring, which integrates computer technology, networktechnology and multimedia technology, has achieved great development. In recentyears, digital video monitoring systems get more and more wide application insecurity areas, compared with analog video monitoring systems, they have theadvantages of easy to transmit and extend and with more powerful function. Thereexist two kinds of digital video monitoring systems nowadays, one is based on thePC-based DVR, the other is based on the embedded video server. The embeddedvideo monitoring system has the distinguishing features of low cost and highreliability, as well as quite good real-time feature, with its remarkable practical utilityand prospect, it has become one of the study hot in relevant areas.Upon this kind ofpractical requirement, the thesis devised an embedded video-monitoring system,which is based on an embedded hardware platform of the chips of SL3512 andFH8735, and based on an embedded software platform of Linux operating system.The advanced H.264 standard is adopted in this system to realize real-time videocapturing and encoding, thus high-quality images could be gotten at low bit-rate,therefore, it implements a scheme with good feature and high cost performance.Basedon the scheme, this thesis designed the general architecture of the imbedded videomonitoring system, and gave the sheme of the hardware and software. After analyzingthe choice of the embedded hardware platform of the chips, Made a generalintroduction to software architecture and development environment for embeddedLinux operating system.The main content of this article include:(1)First introduced the background and significance of this study, analyzing thedirection of development based on the development history of video surveillancesystems, pointing out the development trend of the monitoring system will beembedded video server.(2)Summary of the principle of ARM selection and design process of thehardware platform, on this basis, designed the hardware platform which selected theARM9 chips SL3512 as the core hardware platform, and features modular design for the entry point for detailed schematic design for the entire development platform,including the CPU module, the video image acquisition modules, video compressionmodule, memory modules, power modules, USB modules, network transmissionmodule, and describes the function of each module .(3)Describing the PCB design process and PCB hardware circuit debugging,points to note in the PCB design process and during the PCB design problemsencountered in the process of debugging.(4)Summary of the advantages of Linux systems and embedded softwaredevelopment process,on this basis, the embedded Linux cross-developmentenvironment to build the Bootloader bootloader configuration programming, tailoringand configuration of the Linux kernel, root filesystem creation, Ready for the nextdesign and implementation of embedded video server .(5)Embedded driver development under Linux, mainly introduces thedevelopment points of the driver, based on the development of USB drivers andEthernet interface driver.(6)Conclusion and Outlook, this article briefly summarized, the main work doneby the author, pointing out that the video server needs to improve and perfect.
