| This paper discusses and analyze in detail the current information retrieval technology inwhich there are many weaknesses and defects, such as, keyword-based information retrievalsystem can not guarantee users’ high-quality feedback. To solve this problem, we studied onsemantic retrieve and the ontology technology and brought them into the area of informationretrieval in order that through building semantic retrieval system on the basis of ontology, theinformation retrieval has changed from concept level to semantic level and the semanticdifferences between user query demand and os also has been eliminated. Therefore, thesystem could accurately understand the query demand of users and return high-qualityretrieval information. Moreover, we also have researched and designed a ontology semanticretrieval system that can be applied in universities. Due to the big amount of Chineseuniversities; and the Web pages of every university contain irrelative information, it mayspend much time on looking up basic information of one university while the traditionalkeyword-based search method could not assure the query rate and accurate rate. Consequently, this paper applies the combination of ontology and semantic retrieval into university so thatthe search query could become relatively easy and help those students who want to knowgeneral information of all universities. This paper, firstly, discusses in detail about the ontology design and establishmentprocedure of universities. The establishment of university ontology is on the basis of thestudy on semantic retrieve and ontology and ontology description language OWL. Next, itelaborates semantic search key technology including document pretreatment technology, traditional semantic similarity algorithm and ontology query extended technology; and then itimproves the relative semantic similarity algorithm and does research on semantic queryextension algorithm. Finally, on the basis of the built ontology, it provides the corresponding into the area of university and initially verified the accuracy of the theory and the function ofthe semantic retrieval. |
