| In recent years, with the rapid development of information technology and the constantly increasing of the types of communications services, users have become increasingly demanding on the network. The spreading use of portable notebook and various types of personal digital mobile terminals resulted in users’growing demand on office mobility and access to internet applications.Therefore, Wireless LAN technologies emerged and have been widely used because of its flexibility, mobility, quick access and ease of installation and expansion characteristics. At the same time, with the emerging of the concept "wireless city" and the policy relaxation, operators are combining the design of "wireless city" design with WLAN. The networking planning in WLAN construction which is continuously expanded, therefore, becomes more and more important.This paper focuses on the technology of WLAN and its application on access into operators’broadband network.Starting from the WLAN research background and the analysis of the characteristics of WLAN, this paper firstly analyzed and investigated the evolution of WLAN network technology, technical standards and networking methodologies. Then, this paper introduced the networking security technologies, several main authentication technologies and the safeguard policies on service quality.Then, an in-depth investigation and analysis on operators’ WLAN networking methodologies is followed, including business needs analysis, construction principles. This paper also made a thoroughly analysis and study on WLAN networking and coverage programs while designed differentiated coverage programs for different environments.Furthermore, this paper designed one selected case on hotspot. Introduced the design principles, design ideas, the settings of relative parameters, the installations of main equipment and the test method.Lastly, a summary of the whole paper is presented pointing out the direction for further improvements and described a future-outlook of WLAN network. |
