Wireless Internet of Things (IOT) is a kind of sensor network. It’s a comprehensive application based on Intelligent Recognition Technology, Pervasive Computing and Ubiquitous Network technology. The technology of IOT will bring a revolution in science and economy. Many countries are researching new technology and developing new applications. The sensor network is the basic network of the IOT. The application of the bar code has changed people’s life greatly for several years. However, bar code was replaced by RFID technology since information explosion comes. In this paper, wireless technology is introduced at first, and then a sensor network based on active Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, which is used in Family-School Communication System, is introduced. Active RFID technology, with low cost, low power consumption, long distance transmission and high reliability etc, can be used in the Family-School Communication System. This system can get students’information effectively, and send them to the server when the server requests. The server then carries out a specific predefined operation. There are three sections in this paper. In the first section, the theory of Radio Frequency Identification is introduced. The design and implement of the system’s hardware and software are demonstrated in the second part. The last section is the testing results and analysis of the system. In the testing experiments, the system can record the information of the tags, which is in the scope of the reader’s detective range, effectively. This system has longer transmission distance, higher reliability and more energy saving, higher energy efficiency than traditional system, and it can provide security function to the student at school.
