With the vigorous development of the media applications, the 60GHz short range wireless communication technology which can provide transmission rate more than lGbps has received considerable attention. This subject is from one of sub-topics of the National Natural Science Fund Project, which has significant theoretical and practical values. It is necessary to employ beam-forming technology for 60GHz wireless communication due to the large path loss. The mass data of channel state information in adaptive beam-forming technology may bring the network serious overhead. Thus, the beam-forming technology based on codebook is becoming a hotpot of the research. In the paper, we firstly do deep research on the beamforming technology and focus on the features of the beamforming mechanism in the current two international standards, IEEE802.15.3c and IEEE802.ilad. Next, to against the performance drawbacks of the codebook design in IEEE802.15.3c, we propose three schemes for beamforming codebook design, which are N phases codebook, uniform window based codebook and random window based codebook respectively. All the three schemes which can be specified into five codebooks have achieved low-complexity and low-energy performance. After establishing rational system model and detailing the function module, we evaluate the performances of our codebooks in MATLAB focusing on beam configuration, array gain, total channel capacity and robustness. The simulation results show that the proposed codebooks can always outperform the existing ones in the standard of IEEE802.15.3c. At present, the codebook design schemes are submitted to the china standards group and have the potential to be added in the appendix of the Chinese standard.
