In recent years, with the vigorous development of education in colleges and universities, their enrollment scale expands rapidly, which makes the freshman registration work highly difficult. During the process of signing up, the students have to go through many departments, and many things have to be done at the same time, so the working strength is great. The traditional work pattern of recording with paper not only costs many human and material resources, but also is unable to satisfy the needs of the current freshman registration work. Therefore, it becomes a very urgent problem for colleges and universities how to plan the freshman registration work in a scientific way, with the systemic view and information idea and techniques.This thesis presents a new digital freshman registration system based on the SSH framework. Adopting the most popular J2EE open system framework, the system is mainly a B/S system, having no client and restriction on time and space; It has high expansibility and can be updated easily according to the future need; it is developed with the three-layer network architecture.The main contributions and research contents of the paper are as follows:1. It analyzes the system’s research background and significance, and the present status of Chinese university freshman registration system development; then in accordance with the actual demand and characteristics of university freshman registration system, it analyzes the work flow and function demand of university freshman registration system.2. The paper analyzes the system with the UML method. Firstly, it designs the static model of every module with class diagram. Secondly, it designs the dynamic model of the main function module with the timing chart. Finally, it designs the database based on these models.3. This thesis develops the system with the SSH framework. On the basis of deep analysis and research, some optimization and innovation are made so that various functions of nuclear modules can be performed. The system is developed from the Web layer, business logic layer and data persistence layer.The system realizes the information sharing among many departments, resolving the problem of Information Island. Furthermore, this system can not only satisfy the heavy business need, but also easily reestablish the work flow with the business change. Since the system is put into practice on line, it has provided a convenient, efficient, all-around platform for the freshman registration work, and won the high praise of the users. Moreover, this study provides a technical solution for the information system construction in colleges and universities, having strong theoretical and practical significance.
