The design, development and commissioning of airborne radar systems are expensive and timeconsuming, as the systems are very complex. Radar system simulation can test and evaluate radarperformance in the lab, and is used widely in the research, verification and evaluation of radarsystems. The thesis is based on the development of a hardware-in-the-loop simulation of airborne radarsystem. According to the functional requirements of airborne radar system simulation, the systemmodel is established, with emphasis on the modeling and simulation of airborne radar data processingsystem.Simulation of target track for airborne radar is studied. The track information is calculated in realtime according to the equations of motion and the track parameters, and then be sent to the radartarget simulator after coordinate transformation. The main function of airborne radar data processing system is studied; scheduling model and theprocessing of main operating modes of airborne radar are given. Extended Kalman Filter (EKF),maneuvering target tracking algorithms and joint probabilistic data association algorithm (JPDA) arestudied. An improved adaptive tracking algorithm for maneuvering targets is proposed, andsimulation results show that the algorithm can meet the engineering requirements. Models of trackinitiation, track association and track management are established, and the simulation results are given.Task scheduling and beam scanning of airborne phased array radar are modeled and simulated.Program design and simulation analysis are also given.Data processing system is developed in C language, and is transplanted to the VxWorks systemafter debugged successfully in the Windows environment. The performance of airborne radaremulation system in the RWS, TWS, TAS and STT mode is tested, and the simulation results aboutbeam control, target tracking, track management and track display are given. The results show that theairborne radar emulation system can meet the design requirements.
