Automatic parking system is the gradual rise of a hot and difficult which belongsto the field of intelligent vehicles. As a core part of the automatic parking system,automatic parking assist system can help the driver to find a suitable parking in anarrow parking space. The system instead of the driver to manipulate the steeringwheel into the parking spaces along the intended track and complete the wholeprocess of the parking. Parking assist system will increase the safety and comfort ofthe parking process.This paper presents a complete set of automatic parking assist system solutionsfrom the theory to the real vehicle applications. The program uses ultrasonic rangingsensors for parallel parking bit of spatial information. Hardware optimization ofultrasonic ranging system can obtain accurate obstacle distance information. Andbased on the location information of the surrounding obstacles, use a parking spacereconstruction algorithm for the vehicle environment positioning. Path in the parkingprocess requirements, the parallel parking process is divided into five steps: parkingeffective space detection, the parking start position detection, the first inflection pointdetection, the second inflection point detection and the end of parking positiondetection. Ultimately, the system has completed the reconstruction of the carsurrounding environment and the minimum radius of the parking trajectory planningalgorithm.In this study, the system uses the1:10car model simulation and test in a real car.Designed and developed hardware and software system for parking assist systembased on ultrasonic ranging sensors. And EPS of the car was upgraded. By the realvehicle automatic parking system tests show that the designed system can successfullydetect an empty parking space, accurate given the operating tips, control steeringsystem along the trajectory of the minimum radius method into the goal of parkingspaces. System has reached the design requirements of the automatic parking assistsystem.The most important feature of the system is only one kind of space-aware sensor,10ultrasonic sensors, to complete reconstruction of the space location characteristics.Left and right parallel automatic parking system come true. At the same time, in aparking assist system has also increased the sound and image display function whichmake the parking process more secure and can be monitored. The research provides theory and application of the blueprint for automatic parking and intelligent driving.
