With the rapid increase of car, it is more and more difficult to park a car in the modern cities. When parking a car in a narrow space, plenty of drivers, especially new learners are not very easy to undertake the task, that conclude more and more traffic accidents. An efficient automatic parking system not only can help the drivers to park fast and safely, which can relieve the burden of them and decrease the traffic accidents, but also can enhance the vehicle's intelligence, add the addition profit with enormous economic income.A automatic parallel parking system (APPS) has been proposed in the paper. First, analyze vehicle's kinematic model and the relationship between vehicle radius around the corner and the steering wheel at the low speed; then according to the model and the parking process, we researched the APPS's geometry path planning method, after that, improved the method combined with the actual circumstance; at last, a new adjustable parking geometrical path had been designed, errors resources also had been given.And then, we design a fuzzy controller for automatic parking system, and do some simulation analysis by Matlan/simulink soft to detect the validity of the controller and verify the geometry path.What's more, the hardware system has been give in detail, included the sensing part for data collection. The system can attain the surrounding environment and car body posture, and then the controller can compute the park path, meanwhile it sends orders to the actuator which realize the automatic parking process.At last, some related experiments had been finished in a car. The key location of parking geometrical path is computed according to the characteristic of vehicle parameter and perceptive system. Design a way of finding a parking space in parallel parking system. The control system compute a valid parking path according to the surrounding environment get by the perceptive system, the key location and the size of the parking space. According to the compute result of parking path, the car can achieve the auto parking by the control system control the steering wheel.The proposed PAPS can achieve automatic parking task, but further research can be done to improve the performance.
