As a new type of passive components, optical fiber grating has become the focus ofsensing technology because its special characteristics such as small size, benign corrosioncharacteristics, immunity to electromagnetic interference, easy to multiplex, etc. And nowit has been widely applied in bridge, tunnel, the petroleum chemical industry andaerospace industries. The present paper has done the work as follows: the fiber gratingsensor application is analysed in detail, and a sensor system is build based on the analysissystem, then achieved the temperature signal’s acquisition and procession; the main factorthat effect the sensor character of the fiber grating is analysed, and the way of change thesensitivity is explored; researched the encapsulation technology and application inindustry from theory and experiment are researched, especially the application inaluminium alloy corrosion monitor.Firstly, the development history and the main species of the optical fiber grating areintroduced. And the applications in communications and sensing areas are also introducedin detail.Secondly, the coupled-mode theory of optical fiber grating and principle of Bragggrating are expounded, the principle and the relative merits of the current severaldemodulation methods are compared, and then the principle of some common optical fibergrating sensor multiplexing technique and their sphere of application are analysed.Then, a high precision fiber grating demodulator based on its working principle isdesigned, and the graphical interface display base on MFC is wrote, finally realizedtemperature’s on line monitoring.Finally, the sensor features and encapsulation technology of fiber bragg grating andphotonic crystal fiber grating through the demodulating system are analysed, then get thechanging regularity between outside parameter and resonance wavelength. The metalcorrosion monitor especially aluminium alloy is explored, and three structure are putforward, then got the regularity between corrosion time and sensing wavelength throughexperiment.
