The Research Of Workflow Technology And Its Applications In The OA System

OA (Office Automation) system is able to improve internal information management system of organization and can reduce the burden on office staff,and is capable of improving work efficiency, realizing networking and automation of enterprise work. Therefore,the development of the OA system based on B / S structure gradually become a research hot.OA system have many complex modules in large scale, and the demand of users often change in varying degrees. Developing the OA system in the traditional way of custom will be not worth the candle,and the whole development process will be in the situation that the partial change is often indeed affect the body, because the demand of users change frequently. The workflow technology will separate business process logic from application logic, and the developed OA system will be easy to modify,extend and maintain applying the workflow technology. Meanwhile, the OA system have many business processes similar to the document flow, and the object of study of the workflow technology which can make business processes execute automatically partially or fully is exactly business processes. Thus,using the workflow technology in the process of developing OA system is a worthy solution. And the reasonable degree of the design of the workflow management system especially the workflow engine will determine the level of quality of the OA system.This paper focuses on workflow technology. This paper makes a detailed discussion about the basics of workflow technology at first,and then put forword a workflow model according to the needs of the system. Then this paper develops a process designer and a workflow engine on the basis of the workflow model. After that work,the paper briefly describes the overall design of the OA system and the workflow technology applications for the OA system. Finally,the paper summarizes related work and indicates the direction of future work.
