In recent years, with the rapid development of tourism,the shortcomings oftraditional way with a tour group gradually revealed, such as the haste, visit a singleline.Qn the other hand, self-help travel,wich is pursuit of freedom and individualcharacter, became increasingly popular. But efficacy, self-help tourists often meetsbeing not familiar with the road,can’t ensure accurate positioning,can’t extensivelyunderstand the attractions of cultural heritage sites, and even omissionsattractions.Therefore,electronic self-help guide system,wich can realize the functions ofviewing scenic area map,cheeking the user’s precise location,searching the roadsbetween scenics,and automatic notification of attractions and querying information ofscenic spots etc.,can receive visitors favour more and more.It was of great applicationprospect in the market.This paper combines the embedded vector electronic map manufacture technology,GPS technology, and Windows Mobile programming technology, the shortest pathanalysis technology, MapX Mobile electronic map control is designed for electronicself-help guide system. The main research contents include the following aspects:①Use GpsView software,collect the information that making vector electronicmap needed, and then,use Mapinfo rendering the electronic map which can be shownin embedded system;②Researching MapX Mobile embedded map control second developmenttechnology, realized the basic map amplification, narrow, translation, target selectionfunction;③By mens of the serial interface communication technology under WindowsMobile,realized the GPS data reading; Analyzes the GPS data format, extract the userthe location of the longitude and latitude information; Based on the distance projectionalgorithm map matching technology, improve location accuracy; The dynamic figureyuan research rendering technology, realize the user’s position real-time display;④Researching the shortest path analysis, combining Dijkstra algorithm,to realizethe query about the shortest path between attractions;This design choose chongqing university A campus as scenic spot,then draw theembedded vector map.And choose DuoPuDa P800smartphone as a test platform, makethe functional test in chongqing university A campus. According to the test, the system can realize tour guide functions,such as the basic electronic map graphics functions,accurate GPS positioning, scenic spots, and sights automated information inquiry etc.. Ithas good portability and stability. In addition, the operation flow is simple,convenient.
