Image matching is a matching algorithm between two or more images to find the samename point, such as in the two-dimensional image matching, compare the correlationcoefficient in the same size window between the target area and the search area, then take thecenter point of the biggest correlation coefficient in the search area as the same name point.Image matching also has broad application in satellite navigation, data fusion and machinevisual fields.This paper focuses on several classical image matching algorithms, the second chapterdeals with the pretreatment done before during the image matching. The third chapterexplains various types of matching algorithms, and analysis through the simulationexperiments. The fourth chapter analysis the multi-resolution characteristics of wavelettransform. The fifth chapter proposes a comparative trial between the algorithm and a varietyof classic matching. The experiment Result shows the algorithm can match the meteorologicimage precisely, it can also shorten the matching time to meet the real-time demand formeteorological image matching.
