Operation System Level Virtualization Technology Application In Network Teaching Environment

With the development of science and technology,the application of computer network has reached every aspectof the social life.Courses related to the application, management and development of computer network have been largely set up in various schools, which stimulate the occurrence of a larger number of network personnels, and provide a necessary base for the further popularity and application of computer network, But in the present teaching practice of these courses,there commonly exist two problems:shortage in the sorts and quantity of servers for experiment, low management efficiency of experiment environment.These two problems often cause some network experiments, which had high requirements to experimental environment, or are likely to have big destructive effects on experimental environment, difficult to carry out normally, therefore affect seriously the practical teaching effects of the courses.Therefore on the basis ofcompletely analyzing the present situations and characteristics of the practical teaching of these courses, and systematically examining such commonly used solutions as largely increasing experimental equipments and using HALLevel virtualization, etc, this article sets up a plan for constructing experimental environment of networkcourses teaching with the OS Level virtualization, meanwhile it plans and reallzes a management software of OS level virtual machine orienting to teaching. Compared with the present commonly used HAL Level Virtualization. the OS Level Virtualization has its obviousad vantage in virtual performance and mariagement efficiency. Practice shows, the experimental environment of network courses teaching. set up with OS Level Visualization, has perfect performance, complete function, low cost, and is easy to manage·Constructing and equipping experimental environment with the plan, can solve effectively the problem of shortage in sorts and quantity of network experimental equipments, improve effectively the management efficiency of experimental environment. and at las timprove the teaching quality of related courses.This article focuses on explaining the background, basic train of though. concrete realizing plan, and characteristics of constructing experimental environment of network courses teaching with OS Level Visualization. First, it completely analyzes the present situations of network courses teaching experiments and the disadvantage of the existing experimental teaching mode; then, it proposes a over all plan for the construction of network experimental environment with OS Level Virtualization, on the basis of systematically introducing the principles and characteristics of several possible virtualizations; consequently, it expounds in detail the concrete realizing procedures and methods of the plan; finally, it summarizes the advantages anddisadvantages of this plan, with the analysis of its application, and looks forward to the plan’s practical prospect of application.
