The pratical research on embeddedInternet virtual instrument that complied with information process becomes one of hotresearches of instrumentation. This paper presents the model of “Application Platformâ€which is applied to embedded Internet virtual instrument, and introduces the structure of“Application Platform†prototype device. Furthermore, the standardized design of“Application Platform†is elaborated in hardware and software respectively. Theresearch on application platform will provide a fundamental application developmentenvironment and an effective pattern for developing various kinds of embedded Internetvirtual instrument. It also makes a greate convenience for secondary development ofembedded Internet virtual instrument.The research on “Application Platform†represents a new way and technology ofembedded Internet virtual instrument. Related works are as follows:â‘´Establish the concept of embedded Internet virtual instrument by using the ideaof componentization and modularity. Analyze the structure, standardized design andprototype construction of application platform in detail.⑵Develop embedded Internet virtual instrument prototype on the foundation ofapplication platform.â‘ Hardware design of application platform. According to the model of“Application Platformâ€, design the hardware structure, functional components andhardware interface to compose a required hardware system.â‘¡Firmware library development of “Application Platformâ€. Contraposing thefeatures of embedded Internet virtual instrument, two key issues need to be resolvedwhen building MCU firmware library. The first one is to design real-time and reliabledata transmission firmware. The second is to simplify the TCP/IP stack.â‘¢Construction of embedded system for “Application Platformâ€. From the aspectof saving system memory and storage, customize a fast, compact and effectiveembedded system for “Application Platformâ€. â‘£Development of virtual instrument components. On the foundation of“Application Platformâ€, develop Windows CE-based virtual instrument components byusing LabVIEW.
