Along with the wireless network technology, computer technology and video compression technology development, the video monitoring system is gradually into people’s lives. The video monitoring system based on the wireless network can be exempted from trouble of wiring and realize fast end-to-end access, so the research of wireless video monitoring system makes deeply sense.Wireless video monitoring system is based on wireless network and system resources of wireless network are limited, so it is important for reasonable and effective use of resources. In addition, monitoring system will collect video information to monitor through the wireless network transmission. In order to get good image quality, system often increases the number of bits for transmission, which may cause the wireless network congestion, how to reduce the number of bits and maintain the quality of image is the key of wireless video monitoring system spread, h.264 video compression standard has high compression ratio, which reduces the number of bits for transmission. The wireless video monitoring system which is based on embedded system has become the focus of research in video monitoring field with the advantages of small size, low cost and high stability. This paper makes a study of the related theories limiting the wireless video monitoring system application, theory research is divided into two parts: one is the resource allocation in wireless network; another is the h.264 standard motion estimation improved algorithm. It also briefly introduces construction of the wireless video monitoring system based on embedded system at the end of the paper. Introducing the wireless system development and main technology, we put forward a new resource allocation method (ASA-GPA) to solve wireless resource allocation problems of OFDMA system in the second chapter. Next chapter is the optimization of h.264 standard motion estimation algorithm, this chapter introduces h.264 compression standard in coding part, we study classical algorithm in motion estimation of inter prediction and propose two improved strategies: adaptive reference frame technology and early termination technology based on new definition of static block. In the chapter four we introduce construction of the wireless video monitoring system based on embedded system.
