The Study And Application Of H.264 And Motion Estimation

H.264 is the newest international video coding standard developed jointly by ITU-T and ISO/IEC,which becomes well known for its higher coding efficiency and better network friendship,and has been the research hotspot in video communication area.In common with earlier coding standards,H.264 also use the block-based hybrid coding scheme,but adopt more advanced technology,which improved the coding efficiency,but greatly increasing the computational complexity.This paper studied the key technology of H.264,desired to simplify and improve it in different applications.Motion estimation is a key technology of video coding,whose computational complexity consumes at least 50%of the total encoding system.To overcome this problem,a lot of fast algorithms were developed,such as TSS algorithm,DS algorithm and HEXBS algorithm.This paper mainly studied the fast motion estimation technology based on block matching,and proposed a new HEXBS algorithm based on predictive start search point, which mainly use the relativity of the neighbor blocks' motion vector in space or time. Experimental results show that the algorithm we proposed is more efficiency than HEXBS algorithm,compare with it,when the frame distance is 1 and 2,the average search point reducing 19.155%and 16.499%;the average MSE reducing 9.633%and 2.630%.At last,we given a design scheme of a remote intelligent video surveillance system based on H.264.Different from previous design scheme,we mainly add two new modules.(1) The intelligent video analyze module,which increase the reliability of the system,for the different behavior video from it,we intelligent encode it with H.264 use different parameters, transmission and storage,ensure the interesting video have high quality,and given an alarm for the suspicious behaviors.(2) The wireless transmission module,which increases the flexibility of the system,ensures we can use different terminal,such as PC and mobile phone, accessing the video.
