The 2D barcode, which is emerged due to the development of information technology, has a promising future. As one kind of 2D barcode, QR Code is a special code based on Digital Image Processing and coding theory. Since 2D barcode has a relatively higher density information, its recognition technology is more complex than that of 1D barcode, especially for QR Code. Therefore, it is of important theoretical and practical significance to study the issues of embedded barcode recognition system based on Image Processing technology.First, this thesis discusses the current status of the application and research of QR Code, followed by the introduction of the QR Code symbol and coding theory. The Image Pre-Processing, such as gray level transformation and binarization, is discussed. Based on the characteristics of the QR Code, the algorithm of QR Code’s detection basing on finder patterns has been used.Second, for the deformation of a bar code symbol, this thesis presents the algorithm of QR Code’s perspective transformation basing on four-corner mapping, which is combined with the bilinear interpolation algorithm to correct the QR Code. The QR Code’s decoding algorithm is also studied.Third, this thesis implements the algorithm of Image Pre-Processing, detection, correction, recognition and decoding in J2ME, and designs QR Code decoding system based on J2ME.Forth,The technical characteristics of J2ME are analyzed and some key technologies such as building the development platform, capturing image, Multi-threaded and network are discussed and resolved.Finally, the system has been experimentally tested in detail. The experimental results prove that the system can quickly detect and identify QR Code, showing a good performance.As one of the import application areas, this thesis predicts that the recognition and application of QR Code in the mobile phone industry will lead to the rapid development with the coming of 3G..
